Possible Strike May Affect Australia Iron Ore
time : 2014-05-13 16:09 Come from :Excellence
According to Australian maritime association yesterday, port workers would be on a strike if the dispute between the tug workers and operator in port Hedland cannot be solved within in 30 days. It is reported that the exported iron ores of three big mining companies all need to go through port Hedland.

Port Hedland is one of the most important ports for Australian iron ore export with $150 million worth of iron ore departure from the port. If strike happened, nearly a quarter of global iron ore export would be affected.

BHP Billiton would be greatly affected by the strike, while the other Australian mining giant Rio tinto's iron ore export is mainly through its own port, and would hardly be affected.
